On Sunday we celebrated Madeleine's baptism at church. We believe that baptism is an outer symbol of an inner transformation that has taken place in the heart of a person who chooses to believe in Christ. Accepting Christ is a life changing decision, and we were so blessed to see our baby girl take this important step of faith. Many of our family and friends from church were able to share this special day with us, and we are so thankful for the Godly influences in her life that led her to seeking salvation. Prior to her baptism she met with our head pastor, Dr. Carney, to be sure she really understood the decision she had made. The actual baptism was done by Dr. Phillips. I was able to capture a few shots yesterday morning before the actual baptism. We praise God for all he has done and will do to shape Madeleine's tender heart.
Romans 6:1-5
New International Version (NIV)
Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
