For the past ten years we have gone to Edisto Beach with a group of our teacher friends. This beach trip originally started out as just adults going to the beach to have fun and relax. Years later it has evolved into more of a family event, and we love it. Our beach experience this year started out in a very eventful way. Within hours of arriving at our rental home an electrical line snapped across the street causing our home to have no power. Never fear...SCE&G to the recsue along with police and firetrucks! The little boys were mesmerized watching all of the heavy equipment and flurry of acitvity in front of our home. Even the grownups had a little fun. It was quite entertaining to say the least.
Micah and Garrison watch the electrical guys put up a new transformer.

Day two brought lots of playing on the beach and a fashion show at night put on by the girls. Ummm...they may need a little practice with putting on makeup, but this kept them entertained for a couple of hours, so it was worth it.
Together we celebrated Almand's birthday and the big USC Baseball National Championship win. We played trivia, sat on the porch, read, ate together and laughed together. It was a really fun week, and we are already looking forward to next year's beach getaway. I had too many pictures to put on one post, so I compiled our beach highlights into a slideshow. Enjoy!
