Easter 2010
This morning we got up super early in order to avoid some of the usual Sunday mayhem, and actually get a seat in church. The kids were amazingly cooperative. We even had time to sit down and eat breakfast together as a family. Maybe we should get up early every Sunday? Nah...every second of sleep counts. Micah wore his first suit this Easter. I know a lot of people, who are not big on suits, my husband included. But, I don't think he could have looked any cuter than he did, and trust me he knew it. Madeleine let me put her hair in a ponytail and even wore a little lip gloss. It was a big day! Before we left home we cut some yellow jasmine from around our mailbox for the cross at church. This bush is blooming beautifully this year, and the bees seem to love it! Our church has a tradition of putting a cross outside for people to bring flowers and decorate in celebration of our risen Savior. This was the first time that I actually remembered to bring flowers. Madeleine and Micah waited patiently in line and placed their flowers toward the bottom of the cross. It was a special moment to stand at that cross and think that Jesus died for us, and is in Heaven waiting to bring us with him someday. I know that Madeleine is beginning to understand about the sacrifice that was made for her, and I look forward to the day that she accepts Christ into her heart. Sometimes my heart breaks for kids that I see that are never exposed to God's love and never get the chance to learn about the sacrifice He gave for them. He is our eternal hope, and without Him we would be lost. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice on Calvary, and thank you most of all for keeping your promise to rise again. He is risen!
