I absolutely love springtime. I love the warmer weather. I love the beautiful flowers. I love getting out in the yard and cleaning up from the fall and winter mess. I love it all with the exception of my awful, terrible, unbearable allergies. As I get older my allergies seem to get worse and worse. Last week I broke down and called the doctor. I was on hold about 10 minutes, and I gave up. So, I decided to go by the CVS Minute Clinic on my way home. I was thrilled to see there was no wait, and I got right in. One antibiotic and one Flonase nasal spray later I was back in the saddle. Slowly but surely I have begun to feel a little bit better this weekend, and it has been nice to sleep through the night without blowing my nose 526 times. Needless to say, Justin is probably very happy that his sleeping partner got some help. :)
In other news, Madeleine went on her first overnight trip with my parents to see my sister and her husband in Richmond this past weekend. I was a little bit nervous about letting her go, but I want her to be independent and not clingy to me. So, after talking with Justin we decided to let her go. We have talked with her everyday, and she seems to be having a blast being spoiled by my parents and my sister. When we talk with her she likes to list what she has done for us. So far she has ridden on a pony, hunted for Easter eggs, gotten a new Barbie laptop computer, swam in Aunt Jenny's hot tub, picked flowers and gone out for ice cream. She will be coming home on Tuesday night, and I can't wait to give her a big hug. It has been so unusual having only one child to take care of these past few days.
When you have one baby it seems so hard to manage everything with home and work. However, when you have two you realize that one was cake. People who have twins the first go round must lose their minds those first few years. I cannot even imagine. Micah has loved all the attention he has gotten these past few days. Yesterday, Justin was able to snap this shot of him watching a show while sitting on our bed. This is one of his favorite chill out positions. We think it is so funny to see him crossing his legs like a little old man. Fortunately, he has not been too upset that his sister has been gone. He absolutely adores Madeleine, and I am sure he will be glad to see her on Tuesday. We only have to make it through one more week of school, and then it is off to Disney for spring break. I cannot wait!
