Out with the Old, In with the New

When I first moved to Columbia 12 years ago I had very little furniture to bring with me, and what I did have were hand me downs from my parents. My first major purchase (other than a car to get me to work) was a sofa, chair and tables for the living room. I was so proud of this furniture because I had bought it all on my own. Needless to say that was about 11 years ago. Since then my life has drastically changed. One hubby, two babies and one cat later...this is what I had left...I had done everything I could to save this chair. While in our living room I sewed a scarf around the bottom of the chair to cover up Tut's handiwork, but as you can see the chair had gotten beyond repair. It was time to say goodbye to Old Blue. Justin took me to the Lazy-Boy store in Lexington, and I found a beautiful leather recliner just my size...it swivels, it reclines...as much as it cost it probably should do my toenails, but I could not be happier with my new chair. So, I know the question you are all wondering is, "How will the cat treat this new chair?" Well, let's just say that Tut has not bothered it yet, but the kids have already come dangerously close to losing limbs when approaching Mama's Chair with sticky hands...so Tut, watch your paws!
