Well, it is 8:13 on Monday morning (1st day of summer break) and I have already cleaned the kitchen, had a cup of coffee, had my quiet time and now I'm working on a blog update. After I had kids I quickly learned that those summers that I spent sleeping late and lounging around all day were long gone. Madeleine woke up singing at 6:30, so that meant I had to get up too. All in all it's not so bad because I am able to get a lot of stuff done without piddling the day away.
On Sunday Madeleine, Justin and some friends from church went to explore some nature trails in the area. Our friend is a Science teacher at one of the local middle schools, and he even took Madeleine and the boys in to check on the animals in the lab. I sent the video camera with Justin just in case he was able to get any cute footage. I made a little movie to capture some of the fun. I love my FLIP video! Needless to say, when I saw Madeleine with the mice I was a little freaked out, but she doesn't seem bothered at all...and I hope she will always be so brave.
