an of my dreams. I know it sounds really mushy, but dear readers please indulge me this once since it is my anniversary. Before Justin and I got married my home church required that we go through pretty extensive premarital counselling. This was WAY more than the typical meet with the pastor one time deal. This was 5-6 weeks of driving to Florence early on Saturday mornings to sit with a pastor for about an hour and really talk about what being married would mean. We even had homework! Needless to say we had pretty much discussed EVERY topic possible before we even walked down then aisle, and I knew even more then that this was the man for me. Justin and I have very different personalities. He is outgoing, and I am more reserved. He is laid back...take things at a slow pace, and I am NOT those things. He has a high tolerance for annoying people (after all he is a high school teacher), and I have little patience for people who get on my nerves (sometimes my own kids)! He loves to read really deep books and stuff to make him think, and I like to read cheesy romance novels and People magazine. As you can see, we are VERY different. But, we both love God and desire most to honor Him through our marriage, our family and our lives. And, this is the main reason why I can honestly say that everyday I love him more and more. Do we make stupid mistakes? YES! Do we always agree? NO! But, I know that at the end of the day Justin wants what is best for me, and I want the best for him. So, I guess we have each other's backs and what else could you ask for in a marriage? I love you Justin Jones!
We were fortunate enough to spend some time in the Tennessee mountains for our anniversary trip. This was a very generous gift from my class this year. Our cabin had some amazing views, and we ordered take out one night just to stay home and watch
movies. This is something we never seem to do at home. Some of our other fun activities were putt-putt and horse back riding through the mountains.
We got our horses from a place called Next to Heaven. All along the trail they had Bible verses posted. Well, the funny thing was that my horse (the lead horse) stopped at every verse as though he was waiting for me to read it. We assumed that maybe they trained the horses to do this, but no...the owners really got a kick out of it when we told them about Monty's antics. Check out some of the fun in the video below!
