Micah's School Year 2011-2012

This week I took Micah for his 4-year well visit. I remembered that this visit was much tougher than the others from my experience with Madeleine. I did not mention to Micah that he would be getting 4 SHOTS! But, he handled it just fine. There were some tears, but they quickly went away when the nurse brought out the treasure box. All of his stats were right on track...80% height and 50% weight..."long and lean." He is a very healthy, happy little boy!

Fortunately, Micah's preschool takes pictures each month to document their work in the classroom and special trips. I am so thankful for this as a working mama because it gives me some insight into his day. I put together a slide show of all of the pictures that were shared with me throughout the year of our baby boy. It feels good to know that he is in a safe and nurturing environment where he is learning, growing and becoming more independent everyday. His wonderful teachers, Mrs. Sharron and Mrs. Becca, do an amazing job of managing a busy Montessori classroom filled with 3, 4, and 5 year old students. It really is neat to see how much the younger kids learn from the older kids. This is a big part of the Montessori philosophy of learning. So, while it makes me a little sad everyday to kiss my baby boy and drop him off, I know that he is thriving as a learner and thinker. I can't wait to see what next year has in store for him!
