Spending Time with Family

Before I met Justin I considered myself sort of an introvert in many ways. I enjoyed being around certain people at certain times, but I was very picky about who and when and what we were going to be doing. Basically, I guess I was a little "me centered." I will just blame it on the fact that I was single and the only person I really had to accommodate was me, and I wasn't really worried about what other people might have needed. Boy, did my life change when I met Justin, and for the better in this area of socialization. Justin had a very tight group of friends when I met him who loved him dearly and were very protective over him. I am sure each of them did their own little assessment of me before we got married to make sure I was up to snuff for their boy. Luckily, I passed their tests and quickly his group of friends became mine too. Now, I am still a slow to warm up kind of person, and I value quality of time over quantity. But, I quickly learned that our house would always be a place full of family and friends. And, I love it! We always seem to have someone visiting. This summer our home has been graced with family from near and far. And, we have had the blessing of being able to travel and spend time with them as well. We just returned from a trip to Mimi and Granddaddy's house in Florence where we played, slept, ate and just enjoyed relaxing and spending time together for the past few days. It was a great visit. One of my favorite children's books is The Relatives Came by Cynthia Rylant. I used to read this book to my class never imagining that it would be my home someday, but I am so glad that it is! So, this post is just a picture album to showcase some of the fun times we have had with our family thus far this summer. I hope there are many more memories to come.
