It is absolutely crazy to think that in three short days my baby girl will be six years old. This is the first year that her birthday really feels like she has moved from the "little kid" to the "big kid" stage. Madeleine is smart and funny. She keeps us laughing all the time with all of her witty little comments. Somehow she is able to remember small details about seemingly insignificant events with extreme clarity. This can be a good and bad thing because she is the child that always will remind you, "But, you said..." Tonight as I was putting her to bed she asked me to lie down with her and scratch her back. I was happy to comply with this request. As we talked I asked her if she would be willing to scratch my back when I was an old woman. Without hesitation she answered, "Why yes mommy, but it will have to be in private because no one wants to see me as a grown up doing that. It would be kind of weird." (Insert Laughter) How could I not love this kid? Happy birthday baby girl. Daddy, Mama and Micah are so proud of you!
Music: The song featured on this video came from a CD that we bought from our church as part of the children's Sunday School curriculum. The name of the CD is One Big Gulp, and it is awesome.
