After the whirlwind of the past 3 weeks it feels so good to sit here in my recliner, in my house, with my laptop and just chill out with my babies and Justin. In my last post I mentioned that Justin's dad had been very sick in the hospital. He is doing somewhat better, but he still has a long way to go with regaining his strength. Other big family news was the birth of our newest Jones family member,
Shepard Giles Jones. Justin's brother Jerod and his wife Shelley gave birth to an absolutely beautiful baby boy 2 weeks ago. Last Monday Justin and I had the pleasure of stopping by their home for a visit. It felt so good to hold that little guy, and he is just perfect. We already love him very much.
In the midst of all this craziness we had our annual beach get-away with our crew down at Edisto. Usually I do a slide show of all of the pictures for the week, but this year I am doing a collage to showcase some of the fun we had.
Although this summer has been pretty busy thus far it has been very fulfilling professionally and personally. I was able to finish up the classwork for my AGP endorsement and attend an amazing conference in Boston on the development of professional learning communities. Not only did I learn a lot that I think will help me become a better teacher as part of my team, but I also had a blast touring around Boston with some of the fun ladies from my school. I am looking forward to a great school year next year, BUT I hope the next 4 weeks will go by very S-L-O-W-L-Y, so that I can enjoy every second with my family.
