My parents have been visiting with us for the past few days. They left this morning, but we had a great time during their visit. Madeleine and I both talked Mimi into sprucing up our summer hairdos. Madeleine opted for the ever so elegant French braid, and I opted to not look like a skunk anymore and color my lovely gray streak. Mimi worked her magic on both of us. Madeleine sported her lovely braid for about 2 hours before destroying it by playing around with her little brother. And, I now have a lovely shade of "light ash brown" to cover my color of distinction. As you can see by the picture below we go really high-dollar on the hair treatment. Only the best garbage bags will do as cover-ups for my family!
In other news we celebrated my Daddy's birthday on Friday, 6/11. Justin grilled and barbecued 2 whole chickens, and Mama made her awesome potato salad. Micah and Madeleine insisted on helping Granddaddy blow out his candles, but I don't think he minded at all. So far, our summer is off to a fabulous start. We still have 2 vacation get-aways to look forward to and the birth of the newest Jones baby to Uncle Jerod and Aunt Shelley. I have to take a class next week, but I am hoping it will be quick and painless. Have I mentioned how much I love summer break?
