2010 Summer Projects- Part 1

We have been out of school only 2 official days, but it is amazing what you can get done when you don't have to go to work! Justin and I have both already tackled a variety of projects that have been on the "to do" list for quite a while, but we just never seem to find the time for while school is in session. Little things like...cleaning out the fridge, shampooing the carpets, reorganizing the pantry and big things like pressure washing the entire house. Our biggest summer project is still a work in progress, but we were so excited to get the first part of the task done today that I just had to write about it. We have wanted the get a play set for the kids for a while now, but we needed to clean out a large wooded area of our yard to have a place to put it. Herring Landscaping to the rescue! Todd and his crew of one today did an amazing job of cleaning out the wooded area of our yard using a fancy chopping machine and a very sharp machete. They finished the job in about 2 1/2 hours, and I am scared to even begin to imagine how long this job would have taken the two of us with our sad little assortment of lawn tools. Anyway, tomorrow we are going to measure and do a little shopping for landscaping materials and the perfect play set for the kids. They are going to LOVE it, and I will love having them  busy outside the house instead of inside! Check out the before and after shots of our woods below. I will definitely post more pictures once we have this little project all wrapped up...I know...baby steps...baby steps...don't worry Justin reminds me all the time to SLOW DOWN!
