On Monday I was having "one of those days." Nothing seemed to be going right for me, and it felt like one bad thing after another kept happening to me all day long. I was feeling pretty sorry for myself as I was driving Madeleine home from the dentist on Monday afternoon, but I was baffled to pull in the driveway of my home and see my mother digging away in my big, front flowerbed. Her car was not in the driveway, so I could not imagine what was going on. She looked up and laughed when I pulled up and stared at her in puzzlement.
Me-"Mama, what are you doing?"
Mama- "Well, I came to help you with your flowerbed. You wanted help didn't you? Daddy has gone to get me some gasoline for my tiller."
Me- "Oh Mama, I have had the worst day. What a nice surprise!"
I probably should add here that my mom has a green thumb, finger, hand, arm...her whole body is really good at growing things. She knew the kind of plants I needed to spruce up my front flowerbed, and I could tell she had a plan. Needless to say, when I came home from school today this is what I saw...
We have 3 beautiful roses and a birdbath! Mom and Dad even added a special touch just for Justin...a cardinal. He is a huge Cardinals fan, and now he has his very own to look at everyday. Thank you Mama and Daddy. You turned my frown upside down. I love you!
