Life Lessons (From a Soccer Mom)

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Today marked the end of Micah's first SOAR soccer season. He really did learn a lot about teamwork, sharing and learning to step outside of his comfort zone from this experience. In fact, we all did. My comfort zone on Saturday morning is in my warm bed or snuggled up on my couch with a cup of hot coffee. The past 8 weeks have been filled with Thursday night practices and Saturday games. Normally, this would be something that I would dread, and I can't say that I was thrilled about this every week. However, I have met some wonderful and caring people through this experience who give of their time every week to kids they do not really even know. I have seen my son experience the highs and lows of playing sports and learn how to better deal with both of them. And, I have seen my sweet hubby and daughter support not just our baby boy on the field but many other kids too. It was a great experience, and I am thankful that we stepped out of our comfort zone to try something new. Who knows? Perhaps we will explore baseball in the spring. I am sure it will be another adventure to enrich our lives together.
