And the Drama Continues...

In looking back at some of my older blog posts I realized that I was long overdue for a good Madeleine post, and trust me there is never a lack of material to post about. For those of you who know my sweet girl she is, well...shall we say a "thinker," a "doer," a MAJOR "risk taker." There have been very few things that I have seen Madeleine shy away from, and this is a trait that I love about her...most of the time. I mean who does not hope that their child will be a "go getter" and not afraid to face opposition? Well, you see that is all fine and good until, you...the parent, are the opposing force. Such was the case on Sunday afternoon. We went through our normal after church routines. We come home from lunch and take naps. This is not a new concept to either one of my children. I don't care if you are 22 years old. Sunday afternoons in my house equals sports viewing for Justin and sleepy time for the kids and me. Well, I followed my normal routine of chasing the kids into their bedrooms and dispersed the normal threats about getting out of bed. They seemed to be following my requests, but oh how wrong I was. After I had them in bed, I came into the office to send out the prayer requests and announcements for our Sunday school class on the computer. As I was typing I heard whispers in the hallway leading to the kids' bedrooms. I knew something was up, but I thought I would just let it play out. Sure enough, Micah came around the corner carrying a note. He handed it to me and said, "Sis told me to give this to you." Mind you this was one of 3 notes that sis had written to mommy dearest, but I did have to give her points for creativity on this one. It was such a classic Madeleine moment that I just had to scan the note to save it as a memory of what I survived!

PS- Madeleine does not call me Jessica, but I think she thought I would listen to her message more intently if she directed me by my first name. So, being the bright little girl that she is, she found a book in her room and copied my name off of the cover. Little did she know, "This mama doesn’t play!" Please notice that she even used her princess stationery to write her little message upon. What am I going to do with her?

"Jessica, we're not tired...seriously."
