On the evening of Tuesday, March 15th we moved into our new home. It was an exhausting but exciting experience for our family. We spent the whole morning and early afternoon sitting in different attorney offices downtown in both of our closings. I got a little emotional when we handed over the keys to our old house, but the young couple who purchased our home was so full of hope for the future that I had a peace come over me about the whole situation. There were so many wonderful memories at that home, but I am taking the most important part of those memories with me to the new home. So, I was able to get my emotions under control before we closed on our new home. Everything went so easily at both closings. I was anticipating some sort of last minute drama because I always plan for the worst and hope for the best, but everything went like clockwork. We love our new home and little by little we are making it our own. Justin has already tackled several outdoor projects in the backyard. He has pressure washed both of the outdoor decks and the kids' playground. They look amazing! I have been working on putting together the rooms on the inside. Fortunately, I was able to use many items from our old home in a new way. I have also found some fantastic deals around town on odds and ends for many of the rooms. We are a long way from having everything exactly the way we want it, but we are feeling right at home in our new space. Hopefully, we will be able to do more to spruce up the big front porch and deck area over Spring Break. I am making the new playroom my IKEA project. They have so many books and toys to sort through and organize. I have shopped around on the website for some different organization systems for this space. I am hoping that my spatially gifted sister-in-law will be able to help me with figuring the best way to configure this space. I am posting a few pictures below of some of the "works in progress."
