A Perfect Birthday Weekend

On Friday, 10/15 I celebrated my 33rd birthday. I love birthdays that fall on Friday because you feel like you celebrate all weekend long. My day started out with surprises and cards waiting for me on the kitchen table as I stumbled in very early to do my normal coffee and lunch making routines. Justin and the kids got me some perfume and the electronic Scrabble game. At school my students suprised me with balloons, cupckaes, cards and a gift card to Barnes and Noble. On Friday evening we got a sitter, and Justin and I went out to Saluda's for supper. It was very YUMMY, and we were able to talk and relax after all of the stress and emotions of last week.

The Saturday treat was going to the fair with my family. My cousin, Donielle, was even able to join us for the fun. We rode a few rides, checked out the animals and ate some fair food. Just about the time I had enjoyed my fill of the fair Micah fell asleep, so that was the signal to go home. On Saturday night some of our friends came over to watch the USC game (we won't talk about that) and surprised me with a birthday cake. We chowed on some wings and a lot of cheese and enjoyed the company...not so much the game.

On Sunday we were able to go back to church for the first time since all of the events with Justin's dad. It felt good to be in God's presence in a place where we have lots of friends who have shown their love and support for our family. My final birthday gift was delivered on Sunday afternoon. It was a newly monogrammed 31 purse. (Thanks Rebecca for wrapping it for him. I really like it!) God has blessed me in so many ways this past year. I can't wait to see what He has in store for the next year of my life.
