For as long as I can remember, I have been a planner. I am not a fly by the seat of my pants kind of person at all. I like to know what is going to happen to me and when it is going to happen. As I have gotten older I have had to learn the hard way that some things only happen in God's timing, and it doesn't really matter what I think. But, when I can plan it makes me feel more relaxed and prepared. Maybe that is why teaching appealed to me so much as a career choice because I am constantly in a planning mode. Anyway, all that to say a few weeks ago I planned a little weekend get-away for Justin and my sweet in-laws Jerod and Shelley. They are expecting their first baby in late June, so it is great for them to do some weekend get-away trips while life is not so crazy. We spent the weekend on Hilton Head Island. While we were there, the weather was absolutely perfect. On Friday we were able to leisurely take a walk on the beach and just hang out at the Mellow Mushroom for supper. We came back home to comfy pajamas, a movie and most importantly some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. Saturday morning we woke up early, downed some coffee and headed out to the annual World's Largest Yard Sale at Hilton Head High School. It was HUGE! Jerod and Shelley found several really neat antique items for their home. And, I scored on some books and workout clothes. Then we went to the Tanger outlets for some more bargain shopping. We found some shorts for Justin and new spring clothes for the kids. Mama even got some new pants and shirts for warmer weather. After leaving the outlets we had a FABULOUS lunch at the Skull Creek Boathouse restaurant on the waterway. The weather was perfect to eat out on the deck, and I had a yummy cod fish sandwich. I think Jerod might have picked most wisely with the delicious looking bowl of shrimp and grits that he downed. After lunch we did a little more shopping and headed to Harbour Town.

We strolled around the docks a bit and then rocked off our lunch in some red rocking chairs looking out on the water before heading back to the condo. On Saturday night Justin grilled some amazing steaks and we stayed in to watch basketball and just chill. It was so nice just to relax and hang out. We did have to deal with a little bit of rain on our drive home, but all in all it was a really pleasant weekend. It was great to come home to my precious babies too. I'm already thinking ahead to when we need to schedule our next little get-away trip. I love you Justin Jones, and I enjoyed spending the weekend with you!
