Snow in SC?!?!?!

This was a really busy week for our family. So busy that I did not even have the time to watch the news or read any news on-line. Last night I was on Facebook, and I just happened to read several posts about possible snow on Friday. Well, it was a good thing I did because we ended up with quite a bit. At school today we received the highly anticipated early release announcement around 11:30.  Under normal circumstances this would be a minor-inconvenience, but today...today my friends was the Valentine's Day celebrations at school. Most teachers like to save the V-Day festivities until the end of the day, so that the parents can enjoy the sugar after-effects at home. Well, that little plan back-fired on me today because with the early dismissal announcement we had to put the party in over-drive. The kids were CRAZY! I was CRAZY! Somehow, we all made it out alive. One of the teachers at lunch said she felt like she had to turned into the Valentine Nazi, and that was probably the most accurate assessment I heard.
All of the stress of the day melted away the moment that Madeleine and I walked out of Publix and saw the first tiny white flakes drift down from the sky. We have had a snow dusting 1-2 times since Madeleine was born, but most of it came at night and melted before she saw it the next morning. So, she was absolutely ecstatic to touch it, taste it and just stand in awe looking up at the sky. When we got home, I started a big pot of chicken noodle soup, and took the kids outside for a bit because I was dying to see their reaction when the snow began to accumulate. Micah just stood and stared, and Madeleine did yet another taste test. I cannot wait to get up in the morning to play with them both outside. Justin has already begun laying out the battle-plan for our snowman building operation tomorrow. Since he grew up in Illinois, he has a bit of snow experience; however, living in the South has made him a softie for handling the cold temperatures. I will post pictures tomorrow of our snowman masterpiece. I have very high hopes!
