We Give Thanks

We were very blessed this Thanksgiving to be able to spend time with both of our families in one location. Every other year Justin's family rents cabins in the Pigeon Forge area and celebrates Thanksgiving all together. This year my parents were also able to come because Jennifer and Michael already had plans with his family. We arrived in the mountains on Wednesday. Due to the rock slide on I-40 we took a scenic detour through Cherokee and the Great Smoky National Park. I was sort of dreading the trip, but it turned out to be a beautiful drive. The kids did so well traveling (thanks to the dvd player and my snack stash). On Thanksgiving Day we had a big meal with all of the immediate family members and extended family members who were able to make the trip. Considering that there were around 35 adults and oodles of kids the dinner went off without a hitch, and we had more than enough food. On Saturday we enjoyed some FANTASTIC Gamecock football, and I was able to get in a little shopping as well. This Thanksgiving I am very thankful for my family, my job and my health. I know that I take all of these things for granted sometimes, and I thank God for each of them.
