This past weekend we had the pleasure of going to the mountains with Jerod, Shelley and our friends Ron and Lori Beth. On Saturday we went to the Biltmore for the Christmas tour. It was my second visit to Biltmore, but I was still amazed at all that I saw. That evening we went back to the mountain house had supper and watched football...well some of us watched...while others...slept...I mean read a magazine. On Sunday morning we all woke up early and went to the Grove Park Inn for breakfast. I had never been there and that place was amazing. It was just oozing romance and relaxation. A few weeks ago Pastor Carney preached a sermon series on husbands and wives. During one message he talked about the importance of taking time to do special things with and for each other. We were very blessed to have Grandma Jones help us out by keeping the babies this weekend, so we could get-away. Making the time to spend with each other is so important because you remember why you first loved that other person so much and how lucky you are to share so much of your life with them now.
When Justin and I got married we both had our wedding bands inscribed with a special message. I thought I would be clever and inscribe "my gift from God" in French in his band (he is a French teacher)--the irony was that after our wedding we read our bands and had both inscribed the same message to each other in French without even knowing. When I watch him tenderly take care of our babies or bring me a glass of water and Advil or make supper when I have gotten home late from school or take the time to help a friend who needs him or teach Madeleine her Bible verses for Awana Cubbies I am reminded again and again what a special gift I have...I love you Justin Jones!
